We depart London and head to Stonehenge. Five thousand years ago, these huge forty ton rocks were dragged to the lonely, windy plain of Salisbury hill. You'll get time to learn more about this iconic monument steeped in mystery and legend! Then it's on to Salisbury where we'll visit the finest medieval Cathedral in Britain. In the Chapter House you will see the Magna Carta, the famous agreement made between King John and his barons in 1215. It is then onto the city of Bath where you'll have a panoramic tour and see the Royal Crescent, Assembly Rooms and the famous Pulteney Bridge. We also visit the Roman Baths which is the best preserved Roman Spa from the ancient world. Lunch will be taken in a traditional English pub.

Our full day tour of the Cotswolds begins in Burford, where the magnificent High Street, which slopes down to the River Windrush, holds every variety of Cotswold stone. There will be time to visit the church or small tea houses before heading southwest to Bibury described by William Morris as the prettiest village in England. Here we will enjoy a small walking tour past the picturesque mill and over the small bridge that watches over the sparkling stream abundant with fresh trout. Lunch beckons and what better way to satisfy your hunger than with a fabulous two course lunch at the Swan hotel situated in the centre of Bibury overlooking the River Coln. This seventeenth century former coaching Inn serves a fabulous range of traditional cooking, ales and fine wines. The afternoon is spent exploring Bourton on the Water, sometimes called Little Venice before heading out of the Cotswolds to the delightful Stratford-Upon-Avon. In this evening tour, we will show you the sinister and ghostly side of London. The house in Berkeley Square, where the happenings took place, so terrifying that for most of the nineteenth century it was known as “the most haunted house in London.” Hear about the Theatre Royal Drury Lane where a distressed man in eighteenth century attire is regularly seen striding backstage. Shudder at the tale of the demon barber of Fleet Street, Sweeney Todd, and his accomplice Mrs. Lovatt who was said to have baked pies from the flesh of victims, selling them to unsuspecting customers. We will then move into the notorious East End of London, where we tread in the footsteps of the infamous Jack the Ripper. We'll visit the sites where, in 1888, he hunted and gruesomely murdered five London prostitutes.

We drive to the home of the Church of England, Canterbury, the county town of Kent, and enjoy entry to and a tour of the ancient Cathedral and walled City. We travel on through some of the country lanes of Kent (inaccessible to large tourist coaches) and arrive in Dover at the coast just thirty-two miles across the sea from France and mainland Europe. We take in the magnificent White Cliffs and Dover Castle before returning back inland to the most beautiful castle in England - Leeds castle. The Legend of the Grail has spawned many tales throughout the last 800 years. Not many people know that Scotland is reputed to be the resting place of the grail and a safe haven of the Knights Templar. We'll cross the Firth of Forth into the Kingdom of Fife and pay homage to King Robert the Bruce, at Dunfermline Abbey. After a stop for coffee we'll travel west into the shadows of the Fortress of Stirling. Our lunch will be taken here with time to visit Stirling Castle or explore the city center. After lunch we'll pass the battlefield of Bannockburn and head back towards Edinburgh and the Pentland Hills. At the foot of the hills is Rosslyn Chapel, the reputed resting place of the legend that is the Holy Grail, made famous by Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code. This is the templar holy of holies and you'll have the chance to bask in its mystery and explore the chapel for yourself.
